Dinner was nice but the lovely Ian Mellis cheeses were served far too cold, so the taste was impaired.
They need to be allowed to come to room temperature.
Also, the two wines we chose were both out of stock.

HAVING STAYED FOR THREE NIGHTS WE HAD NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER, BUT ON OUR LAST MORNING FOR BREAKFAST I WAS VERY FRUSTRATED THAT WE HAD A 40MINUTE WAIT TO BE SEATED WHICH I DID'NT MIND SO MUCH, BUT THEN ONCE WE WERE SEATED WE WAITED ANOTHER 20MINS BEFORE I HAD TO ASK THE HEAD WAITER FOR SOME ONE TO SERVE US, ANOTHER 10MINS LATER SOMEONE EVENTUALLY SERVED US (THIS IS AFTER OTHER PEOPLE HAD BEEN SEATED, EATEN AND LEFT THE RESTAURANT!)THEN I WAS TOLD THAT THE FOOD I WISHED TO ORDER HAD RUN OUT!! SO, YOU CAN IMAGINE I WAS NOT VERY PLEASED, BUT OTHER THAN THAT I HAD NO COMPLAINTS.

I wouldn't call it a luxury hotel. The lifts, some of the fittings and finish of the room, bed linen, pillows etc were not luxurious. It was however a very nice hotel with a good shower (not a walk in one that I had read about) and some good extras such as the iron and ironing board. Pillow menu? Not in my room.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in in Edinburgh. Prime location. Fantastic hotel. Plenty of bars/restaurants. Five minute walk to the centre. Beautiful location.

Everything is great about this hotel. Only criticism, is while the location is great for nightlife, its a good 15 min walk from the station so bear that in mind if travelling with your seniors (like i was) But then cabs are cheap and plentiful so it shouldnt be a prob.
Top Tip
Lots of good restaurants nearby. Excellent views of castle.

Fantastic French Restaurant across from the hotel plus lots of other bars, pubs and restaurants.A little noisy at night if your room is at the front of the hotel.
