Waterloo Place Hotel Description

A newly opened hotel (March 09), the Waterloo Place is housed in a landmark building at the East end of Princes Street. Designed with all the facilities of a modern four star the 180 odd rooms will be the most up to date in Edinburgh. It also has a great location a short walk from Waverley station and Princes Street. The original building dates back to 1819, when it was the Waterloo Hotel, the first purpose-built large scale hotel in Edinburgh. Advertised in 1819 as “an establishment where strangers could see the manners of the people and mix with the society of the place" the new hotel will combine the traditional features of this historic building with the contemporary style that Apex Hotels have become well known for.
